中医五脏与英语

中西医的五脏概念差别很大。其实，各种语言都是互相渗透的。汉语中有外来语，英语中也有来自汉语的影响。试以中医五脏为例述之。

一.心。

西医的心是循环系统中心；中医的心不但主血脉，而且主神明。《灵枢邪客篇》说：心者，精神之所舍也。《黄帝内经•灵枢•邪客篇》：“心者，五脏六腑之大主也，精神之所舍也。”《灵枢本神篇》又说：任物者谓之心。即，能担负反映客观事物这种功能活动者是心脏。

古人认为：人的精神意识及思维活动是心的重要功能。这一意识多少千年来普遍传播于国民大众，故有心境、情意、心理、宿愿、爱心、伤心、灰心、同情心等大量词语，成为人们习惯语。( 文章阅读网：www.sanwen.net )

在英语中，heart不但表示循环系统的心脏，也表示感情、精神方面的心。Heart n. 心，心脏，感情， 要点，胸部。例如：

I am a kind-hearted girl.我是一个有爱心的女孩。

He is a man whose heart is full of love.(with heart full of heart)他是一个心中充满爱的人。

A man is what he is in his heart. 一个人在他心中。

Don't lose heart because of a temporary failure. 不要因为一时的失败而灰心。

Don't lose heart, all will turn out well.不要失去勇气,一切会好起来。

Had her heart broke.她的心已经破碎。

Did she usurp his place in his mother's heart? 她取代了他在他母亲心目中的地位吗?

He appealed to his countrymen not to lose heart. 他呼吁自己同胞不要丧失信心.

二.肝、脾。

除了心，中国古人认为：肝、脾也与精神密切相关，所以有肝火旺、脾气坏等等说法。英语spleen n.1.(解剖)脾；2.愤怒，发脾气。3.（古语）忧郁，愁闷，消沉，颓丧。

in a fit of (the) spleen. 发脾气，发怒。

bear (have, take) a spleen against 恨，怨恨。

vent one's spleen upon (on) 向……发脾气，拿……出气。

a cold spleen. 脾失温煦。

cold symptom complex of the spleen. 脾寒症。

the spleen-cold syndrome. 脾寒综合症。

cold-dampness disturbing spleen. 寒湿困脾。

salivation due to the spleen cold. 脾冷多涎。

and activating spleen. 开郁醒脾.

I had no spleen at the saucy rogue. 我并没有跟那个无耻的流氓生气。

He vented his spleen on everybody around. 他对周围每一个人都大发脾气。

His polite formulas often carried much spleen. 他那文雅的客套，常常带有极大的怒气。

英语liver就没有类似的用法。汉语“肝胆相照”的英语“（of friends）be devoted to each other heart and soul”,而不用“live and gallbladder”。

我们说“心肠软”、“没心肝”，英语中只用heart ：a soft heart；heartless.

我们说“胆量”、“胆却”、“胆子”等，英语中与gallbladder（胆囊）无关。英语中“一个有胆量的人”是“a man of nerve”；“他过去一贯勇敢”是He used to be a man of nerve.

但是，gall and wormwood. 极苦恼的事.（gall苦胆汁，wormwood蒿,洋艾,苦艾）。来自《圣经》的故事。

Your words must be gall and wormwood to him.你的话在他听来一定逆耳。

另外，英语中stomach(胃)却可表示欲望、志趣，与精神有关。

It goes against my stomach. 这个不合我的胃口。

Have no stomach for doing sth. 对做某事无兴趣。

Turn sb's stomach.令某人恶心；对某事很生气或心烦。

另外还引伸出stomachy. a.易怒的，脾气急躁的。

三.肾。

英语中，kidney(肾)却与性格、脾气有关。n.1.表示左右两个肾脏中的一个；2.引申还可作“性格,脾气”解。

He is a man of the right kidney. 他是个好脾气的人。

of the another kidney.另一种脾气的人。

of same kidney.气质相同的人。

四.肺。

英语中，lung(肺)与精神无关。汉语“肺腑之言”的英语“heartfelt words”，“words from the bottom of one's heart”。2018.6.10.
